Fêtes de la Saint FIACRE 2010 à Château-Gontier

La fête de la Saint FIACRE bat son plein à Château-Gontier jusqu'au 29 Août. Le week end dernier avait lieu pour cette occasion l'exposition canine 2010. Ici quelques photos pendant les épreuves d'agility. Vous noterez la présence active du maitre à coté de son chien, et le juge avec son micro en arrière plan.

L'entrée du parc Saint FIACRE

Voici l'entrée du parc Saint Fiacre à Château-Gontier. Le Parc Saint Fiacre habite deux bâtiments la Halle du Haut Anjou (objet d'une publication il y a peu) et la Halle aux veaux. Il y a quelques années le marchés aux veaux de Château-Gontier était un des plus important d'Europe. Ici les portes qui permettaient de contrôler les entrées et sorties des acheteurs et vendeurs de veaux. Le marché à toujours lieu le jeudi mais son importance à malheureusement diminuée et son influence n'est plus que locale.

Every year at the end of August this holds with Castle-Gontier the festivals of the Saint Fiacre. These festivals go up with the Middle Ages. A little bit of history….in 1120 these festivals are created by the lord Alard II with the profit of the monks of the priory of Geneteil. In 1468, the bishop of Angers made gift to the prior of Our lady of Geneteil of a relic of Saint Fiacre (VII century Irish Monk - Saint Patron of the gardeners). Since each year on August 30 the pilgrims, merchants, peasants, came to honour the Saint Fiacre relic before going to the fair to have fun the festival.

The picture today is a little wink ...because our city is in the west of France....but there is no gold !!!

Tous les ans à la fin du mois d'Août ce tient à Château-Gontier les fêtes de la Saint Fiacre. Ces fêtes remontent au moyen-age. Un petit peu d'histoire....en 1120 ces fêtes sont créees par le seigneur Alard II au profit des moines du prieuré du Geneteil. En 1468, l'évêque d'Angers fit don au prieur de Notre dame du Geneteil d'une relique de Saint Fiacre (Moine Irlandais du VII siècle - patron des jardiniers). Depuis chaque année le 30 Août les pelerins, marchands, paysans, vinrent honorer la relique de Saint Fiacre avant de se rendre à la foire pour faire la fête.

L'image du jour est un clin d'oeil....car notre ville est dans l'ouest de la France....mais il n'y a pas d'or !!!
